Today we will visit the Santa Catalina Caves. Tripadvisor had this to say about it…”Go to a cave, and you will see stalactites and stalagmites … but have you ever seen a "mushroom stalagmite? You cannot, unless you come here. This is the ONLY location in the world where they have been found. Due to inflows of salt and fresh water, over millennia these geologic formations have been created.” We are excited about this guided tour today!
Once back at the resort, you will have the day to rest, hang out at the pool bars, lay on the glorious beach and then prepare for dinner at Xanadu. Built for the Duponts in 1930, this is the official 90 mile marker to Key West. Situated on the point overlooking the waters that led many to the shores of the United States. A beautiful building on the Hicacos Peninsula of Cuba, it is now a hotel, a magnificent clubhouse for the Varadero Golf Course, and a fabulous restaurant with great views!
Tomorrow we leave for Havana!
