CUBA  - has long held a mystique for Americans with most of us believing we could not travel to this country. Quite the contrary! Centerline Adventures has created an extraordinary and unique experience to this Island Nation! We have been traveling to Cuba for 12 years and this time we are bringing lovers of Classic Cars to enjoy exploring how the owners are able to keep their cars running smoothly through the streets of Havana! We have a unique opportunity to meet these owners and share their enthusiasm for American Made Automobiles!  And while we are there, we will delve deeply into the cigar industry by visiting an artist who paints with tobacco leaves, a woman who is greatly respected around the world for her knowledge of cigars, a father who hosts guests at one of the most beautiful cigar lounges in Havana, and his son who now runs the entire family business of tobacconists in Pinar del Rio! In between all of these wonderful experiences, the richness of Cuban culture including music, art and culinary will be there to welcome us into their lives and country!

This curated itinerary, crafted for only 20 guests, promises an experience beyond compare. Follow along with the itinerary to feel the excitement of a week in Havana!

Don't forget to save room in your suitcases for sets of Dominos and Cuban espresso cups and beautiful, unique art work!
This is your chance to experience Cuba beyond the ordinary. Escape the everyday and immerse yourself in its vibrant culture, breathtaking landscapes, and rich history.

The Itinerary
Day 1
Welcome to the Magic City! Also known as Miami, a city founded by women in 1896, and one of the most amazing places on Earth! Today we will start our exploration of cars...Classic, perhaps, but abandoned decades ago in the Everglades. We will join Charles Kropke, CEO of Dragonfly Expeditions, as he shares his journey through the River of Grass to find the vehicles that were left behind years and decades ago either by being discarded or hiding out or crashing in the Everglades during the dark period  of Miami's history in the drug business! Many think of the Everglades as a swamp when in fact it is known as the widest and slowest river in the United States. In 1947, Marjorie Stoneham Douglas wrote a non-fiction book called The Everglades: River of Grass to advocate against the efforts to drain it and reclaim land for development. Today it is a National Park and protected from those "predators"!

It's Stone Crab season! Dinner on your own so take advantage of this delicacy while in South Florida!

Day 2
Bienvenido a Habana! After a short flight to Jose Marti International, we will be met by our private coach who will take us to the beautiful, newly renovated Tribe Caribe Boutique Hotel, which we will call home for the next 5 nights. Today starts our visit to Old Havana and many of the iconic buildings that share great architecture dating back to the 1500's. Christopher Columbus landed in Havana and fell in love with the country's beauty!

After lunch at Chacon 162 where our friend and owner, Jose Hector, will instruct his gracious staff to make our special Cuban Sandwich by Cuban Chefs in Cuba!! Pair your lunch with mojitos or Cuban beer for an authentic welcome to Havana! We will have our first visit to Milton Bernal's art gallery where he will share his unique and one of a kind artwork while we enjoy his hospitality of cigars and espresso. Now let's go check into our beautiful home away from home at Tribe Caribe owned by business partners, Andres Levin, Grammy Award winning musician, composor and producer, and Chris Cornell, of Montreal. We have the entire hotel for our guests so explore and see why this is the most extraordinary boutique hotel in Havana!

Tonight's first dinner will be enjoyed at Al Carbon, owned by Chefs Ivan & Justo, who have greeted many International leaders in their eclectically decorated restaurant. An amazing band will entertain us on our first night!

Day 3
Today is a favorite for many of us that have visited Cuba. Habana Compas Dance is our first stop this morning to experience an extraordinary performance of percussion and those that dance to it. Eduardo Cordova is the artist behind everything that happens here from the paintings of and on the walls, building the chairs used in the performance and all the instruments played. He has developed a program for kids with autism that Centerline Adventures is partnering with to bring to the States. This is a very exciting performance and will have you on your feet! We found a really cool place for lunch called MUSA that reminds us of South Beach in Miami. Our ride back to Tribe Caribe will be in our own Classic Cars as we ride through the streets of Havana in our own caravan! The only wine bar in town and owned by a woman will be our experience for a fun wine and tapas party at PlanH!

Day 4
Today we will travel to Pinar del Rio, the tobacco growing capital of Cuba. Many tobacconists have grown their great tobacco used in the cigars known by many, smoked by most of the world, and dreamed of by others! Cohiba, Monte Cristo, Romeo y Julieta, and Robaina! Hirochi Robaina took over the business for his grandfather, Alejandro, several years ago, and welcomes us with a tour of his farm and an authentic Cuban pig roast! Cigars are available here to purchase for your enjoyment this week. Once back at Tribe Caribe and rested, we will be enjoying our dinner at Salchipizza owned by Michelin Star Chef Alberto Gonzalez! This will be a great treat as his hospitality is second to none! Returning back to the hotel, join us on the Rooftop for an evening cocktail, cigar and a fabulous jazz band!

Day 5
Today we will immerse ourselves into the Classic Car world of Cuba. These beauties are used by many people to make money through taxi services, tours around Havana, special events like weddings and Quinceneras. The better their cars look, the more they can charge for their services. We will visit a car garage called Nostalgicar where they use their resources to keep the motors working!

We will also explore being able to help some of them with parts for these cars that never left Cuba after the Revolution. This will be the start of an ongoing project collaboration with Centerline Adventures and America's Automotive Trust and NADA. We will go back into Old Havana for lunch at La Vitrola, a very electric restaurant with live music every day! Our afternoon will find us at the Museo del Automovil to find Hemingway's '55 Chrysler Convertible. It is wildly known in Cuba that people have tried to restore it. Today we will see if we can find it! Now let's go by the Partagas Cigar Store and pick up a few beauties for our evening smokes.

But first, we will stop at El Floridita for a Papa Daquiri, named for Ernest Hemingway who was greatly respected in all of Cuba. His bronze statue holds court at the bar waiting for all the selfies!

Tonight is an exciting themed event  at the newly renovated Social 1916 house owned by our friend, Nerea Vera, an artist and pianist! Our meal tonight will be themed as a GREAT GATSBY EVENT! Wear your greatest outfit to recognize this amazing time in our history. We will be delivered to the restaurant in our classic cars from 1930 to 1960! Our entertainment will be music from the era of the 40's and 50's!

Day 6
BEACH DAY! Christopher Columbus landed in Cuba on October 27, 1492 and said it was “the most beautiful land human eyes have ever seen”. Today we will see one of the beaches he made that statement about. Clear blue water of varying color and white powdery sand and no overcrowding!

We will be hosted at the beach house owned by Andres' Levin and Chris Cornell who also own Tribe Caribe Boutique Hotel! The house is extraordinary and recently renovated located on a private beach,  with our own staff preparing an amazing barbeque lunch!  Breathtakingly beautiful environment!

Before going to dinner, we will be treated to a personal Classic Car Show by many owners of these beauties in Havana. See what they have done to use any and all resources to keep their car on the roads! From here, we will be taken to the Rooftop of Bestview, a restaurant 8 floors above the streets of Havana
with views of the Capital Building at one end of the Prado and the Malecon at the other end! Tonight we will learn how to Salsa Cuban style! Before heading back to the hotel, we will stop by Espacios and dance to American Classic Rock! Our favorite band, Big Bros, will play all those songs we have loved all of our lives like Led Zepelin, Journey, Bon Jovi and the Rolling Stones! It's great to hear our music played by super musicians in Cuba!

Day 7
Our last stop before ending our week will be a visit to our BFF, Vivian Melendez, who is highly regarded around the world for her knowledge of cigars. She opens her lounge called ViHumos and invites you to learn why tobacco is the most popular income producing crop for Cuba. Whether you smoke or not, the importance of this to the Cuban people is foremost in the culture of the country. Enjoy a Cuban coffee, Rum, or juice while playing Dominos with Vivian...but remember, the House always wins!!  Visit her extraordinary items for last minute souvenirs where some of them are adorned with her unique logo!

As we say adios to Havana and Bienvenidos to Miami, we greatly appreciate you joining us on our adventure to one of our favorite places -  Cuba!
