Let’s hit the Courts! Another day of enjoying the tropical weather and our favorite pastime! There are 2 beautiful pools that were restored two years ago along with the entire hotel. Owned by the Melia International Corporation, their hospitality is like what you would expect in Spain! The afternoon is yours to enjoy!

Tonight, we will dine at Terraza Café, a combination of courtyard and inside seating, the food is fantastic and the music is Cuban traditional!

Today we will enjoy a friendly Pickleball tournament with some locals that have grown to love the sport! They play every day on courts leased by our partner, Kevin Hernandez. He has taken a parking lot and painted 4 courts for the locals to play. Centerline Adventures is working with him to have those courts resurfaced and add a few more on an area adjacent to the courts he currently leases. This will be an experience for all of us that has never been done in Cuba. The exchange of cultures and personalities will be forever held in our hearts!  An afternoon on the beach will complete this day.

This evening, we are headed to Xanadu! A historic building overlooking the Florida Straits at the far end of Varadero which was built for the Dupont family. This is the exact spot that is 90 miles from Key West and the area where Diane Nyad landed from her swim to Cuba. Wear your Guayabera shirts and lovely sundresses for tonight’s dinner!

Our last full day in Varadero so let’s hit those courts for as long as we want today! This afternoon we will visit the Santa Catalina Caves. Tripadvisor had this to say about it…”Go to a cave, and you will see stalactites and stalagmites … but have you ever seen a "mushroom stalagmite? You cannot, unless you come here. This is the ONLY location in the world where they have been found. Due to inflows of salt and fresh water, over millennia these geologic formations have been created.” We are excited about this guided tour today!

Tonight, we will have our Farewell Fiesta! We will start on the beach for the 5:39pm sunset and head back to the Hotel for dinner and a live band! We will have some Salsa lessons tonight so you can take that talent back to the States and teach all your friends! The waxing crescent moon will appear shortly after sunset so it will give way to beautiful skies over Cuba and the Atlantic Ocean!
